According to Reading At Risk: A Survey of Literary Reading in America (.pdf) not only are reading rates in America declining, the rate of decline is speeding up. After you’re done reading this report (or at least the four-page executive summary,) go read a book!

Michael Sauers is the Director of Logan Library in Logan, UT. Prior to this he was one of the founding staff and Technology Manager for Do Space in Omaha, NE.
