Those of us that still have a need to install and update Java, are generally annoyed by the need to uncheck additional offers as part of the installation process. (I’m talking about you Ask Toolbar!) But, with this latest Java update there’s a new setting hiding within the options labeled “Suppress sponsor offers when installing or updating Java.” Find it in the Java control panel at the very bottom of the Advanced tab. Check it, and the next update won’t “offer” you anything you don’t want or need.
To find the Java Control Panel:
Windows 8.x/7/Vista:
Start, type java, click Configure Java.
Windows XP: Start > All Programs > Java > Configure Java
