Eradicating our biases is just about impossible, writes psychologist Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic. And that’s likely for the best. We use assumptions based on previous experience to get through our lives efficiently. But, if left unchecked, biases can go too far. While we can’t eliminate our biases, we can keep them under control. One way to start? Spend time with lots of different people and things, Chamorro-Premuzic suggests. The more diverse our experiences, the greater range of assumptions we can make.
