Help save Google Video

archiveteam2Google video is being shut down in about a month. If you had videos there, you’ve probably received the e-mail telling you to download your content. Trouble is, much of the content will most likely not be re-posted anywhere else. In response the Archive Team has launched a project to download everything. Once that’s done, the Internet Archive is donating enough space, at least 10TB, to host and archive all of it. I’ started helping out yesterday and I’ve about 70 videos at this point. The software and scripts are now available for both Linux and Windows systems. (It was only available for Linux when I started so I did need some help, greatly provided via IRC, to get it all running. On Windows it should be a bit easier.) If you’d like to help check out all the details on Archive Team’s Google Video wiki page.
