Today I’m attending an AngelBeat technology seminar I Omaha which includes presenters from companies such as McAfee, Check Point, Cisco & Microsoft. The morning is mostly about IT security issues and the afternoon is more focused on new MS products like Win 7 and Office 2010. My plan is to just add my random comments from the day I this post.
- If you put up a slide and then say “don’t worry I won’t go through everything on this slide” don’t then spend the next five minutes going over everything on the slide.
- Your CC # is worth $0.40 on the black market. Your bank acct info, $500.
- It’s nice that despite wanting to sell you their “solution” all the security reps are stressing the importance of user education.
- Angelbeat runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to keeping their presenters on time.
- All the links from the microsoft guy can be found on his blog @ http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinremde/archive/2010/07/09/angelbeat2010.aspx
- Thank you radware rep for saying “criminal community” and not “hackers” as others have done.
- Upgrading your WiFi access points to 802.11n will improve things even for older devices that don’t support the n standard. That’s nice to know.
- Dude! There are WiFi enabled pacemakers!
