Yesterday I ordered my first HDTV. I’m a bit nervous that I’ll need additional equipment to get this thing to work but according to the photos it has all the right low-tech connectors in the back to work with my current system. It’s going to arrive while I’m at CIL so I’m sure that for the first time I’ll be a little itchy to leave conference so I can get home and play with my new toy.
Michael Sauers is currently the Director of Technology for Do Space in Omaha, NE. Michael has been training librarians in technology for the past twenty years and has also been a public library trustee, a bookstore manager for a library friends group, a reference librarian, serials cataloger, technology consultant, and bookseller since earning his MLS in 1995 from the University at Albany’s School of Information Science and Policy. Michael has also written dozens of articles for various journals and magazines and his fourteenth book, Emerging Technologies: A Primer for Librarians (w/ Jennifer Koerber) was published in May 2015 and more books are on the way. I just got my first one too- really similar- 37″ 720p. I don’t have cable, so I’m basically using it as a big computer monitor and for my video game systems (and, of course, my beloved modded xbox). It’s working great!
