As I watched Zappa try to think, I was reminded of the United Negro College Fund slogan: “A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste.” I was Godzilla; Zappa was Bambi. It was no contest. I am a 50 year old musician with two kids, daughter 25 with a collage education and son 15 who is autistic. I have worked with many musicians over the years and many politicians and other folk. I just for the first time saw the crossfire with Frank Zappa and I must say that I have never heard such crap as I did from JOHN LOFTON. This man is a fucking IDIOT. I know this was taped in 86 and was a while back and I wonder just what this MORON John Lofton is thinking now.

The first amendment exists to protect offensive speech. Inoffensive speech does not need protecting. Frank-ly, I can’t think of many situations in my life where I’ve been exposed to more offensive speech than that of John Lofton. His desire to run roughshod over the speech rights of others disgusts me to my roots. I learned turn-taking in kindergarten–clearly a lesson lost on Lofton.
