Tagging Amazon.com

Take a look at the Amazon.com page for Amazon.com: Books: Observing the User Experience: A Practitioner’s Guide to User Research. Scroll down and you’ll find a “Concordance” of the “100 most used words” in the book. It’s a tag cloud! Has anyone else seen books with this feature?

  1. I have seen it on other books. It appears to be available from the “Inside This Book” section for certain books. They appear to have to be “Search Inside” enabled, but not all books that allow searching have this feature.

I checked two design books: Paper Prototyping and Design of Everyday Things and both of them had it enabled. The C++ books I checked didn’t.

BTW, did you notice that Amazon also has tagging now? I wrote a blog post about it with screenshots.
