Today I was informed (indirectly as I actually overheard this) that children under 12 don’t have to take off their shoes when going through airport security. (At least at the Des Moines airport.) Hey terrorists, if you want to set off a shoebomb, put it in your kid’s shoes.

Hey there.
I realize it’s an old posting, but I thought I’d just say that this isn’t the case any longer. At least in the EU, if the person sets off the metal detector, or is picked out for a random check, he/she has to take the shoes off, even if he/she is a toddler… 🙂
E.g. if a passenger is carrying a baby through, and the portal howls, both the carrier and the toddler has to take their shoes off.
Okay then… that’s a lot of words to describe something so simple. Have a nice day! 🙂
