Friday Reads: Mr. Hot Rod by Charles Verne

“MR. HOT ROD”
By CHARLES VERNE

Despite his many fine attributes, Eric Godard was a man of the most modest ambitions. All that he desired was his little gas station and his cars to tinker around with, along with Mae Romeo, his pretty, blonde fiance, to be his wife; and he would be completely satisfied. But such wasn’t to be Eric’s fate. Because, with his rugged good looks, he was to become the prey of many lovely women. While his intense masculinity was to get him elected as the president of the Fender Benders-the most notorious gang of depraved, hot rod addicted, juvenile delinquents in the entire East… Which were the reasons Eric soon became known by the apt nickname of . . . MR. HOT ROD!

Besides Mae, there were four other women in Eric’s life each of them lovely, each of them enticing in her own way, and all were destined to play a vital role in Eric Godard’s life. They were:

Jayne Barton — the raven haired, long legged, sinuous beauty. Who looked like a calendar girl. Was the daughter of the richest man in town. . . Utterly spoiled, Jayne was so bored with life, that she welcomed as a novelty Eric’s most fervent efforts to severely chastise her for her sins. . . Nor was this all.
For the very same reason, she also sought for forbidden thrills in twilight
love with the “Third Sex.”

Lollie — who looked like a pert Junior Miss. But underneath her seemingly innocent, childish exterior, lurked an insatiable nymphomaniac, who only lived for lust… Who joined a carnival as a strip teaser in a desperate, futile effort to alleviate some of her amazing, pentup energy; and who was also the constantly and willing “Lineup Girl” for the leering, lecherous gang of Fender Benders an ill-fated destiny which Mae Romeo, Eric’s fiance, was also ticketed to share with this little carnival hellion.

Ruthie Saunders — Jayne Barton’s peaches an’ cream, farm girl partner on the Isle of Lesbos. And when Jayne became determined to get Eric away from Mae Romeo permanently, Ruthie was ticketed to become the crucial decoy to ensnare Mae in their own, already warped sisterhood. . . Knowing full well, that if Eric ever caught them at it, he would punish both of them so severly, he would make all of his previous punishments of Jayne look utterly pale and anemic by comparison.

Ann Steele — a most vivacious and devastating redhead, who was a bra model. And even though she was still pining over the loss of her deceased, racing driver husband, she still ultimately gave Eric the best of her that she had… displaying certain hidden assets to him the lascivious clientele who came to see her model, could only speculate and dream about.

The novel races to its breathtaking conclusion, traveling faster than sound, when Eric Godard is involved in the most severe crisis of his entire life-a crisis of literal life or death. It is then that one woman emerges, her and her alone, who can eradicate him from his desperate plight. . . Besides matching
him pace for pace pace . . . thrill for thrill lap for lap. . . to the blazing finish line… with the very amazing… MR. HOT ROD!
