8 Random Things

I’ve been tagged by Nicole. I’ve been putting it off but here I go…

  1. I almost lettered in Girls Soccer in high school.
  2. I played trumpet and was rather good at it. I’m not about 15 years out of practice and wish I had a reason to pick it up again.
  3. In grad school my nickname was CyberRat. This was the source of the name of my consulting business in Las Vegas, CR Associates Internet Consulting.
  4. Favorite music, in no particular order: David Bowie, Norah Jones, Rush, Queen, Miles Davis, Chet Baker
  5. The last PC Game I played was Burn:Cycle. If I play games, I’ll play games. I think Guitar Hero is starting to suck me in. Spore will probably kill me.
  6. I share my birthday with Ani DiFranco.
  7. I get books on CD from the public library and rip them to my iPod. (Bad me)
  8. I have two nieces, one nephew, and my second nephew should arrive tomorrow.

Michael Sauers is currently the Director of Technology for Do Space in Omaha, NE. Michael has been training librarians in technology for the past twenty years and has also been a public library trustee, a bookstore manager for a library friends group, a reference librarian, serials cataloger, technology consultant, and bookseller since earning his MLS in 1995 from the University at Albany’s School of Information Science and Policy. Michael has also written dozens of articles for various journals and magazines and his fourteenth book, Emerging Technologies: A Primer for Librarians (w/ Jennifer Koerber) was published in May 2015 and more books are on the way. In his spare time he blogs at travelinlibrarian.info, runs The Collector’s Guide to Dean Koontz Web site, takes many, many photos, and typically reads more than 100 books a year.
