In May 2014, Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library went through an RFID conversion process. In one week. While closed. But we didn’t stop there. DLKWe also installed self-check kiosks, replaced our security gates, retrofitted our automated materials handler, and gutted the circulation lobby at the same time. David explains what his library did to prepare for this, and how they pulled it off.

David Lee King is the Digital Services Director at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, where he plans, implements, and experiments with emerging technology trends. He speaks internationally about emerging trends, website management, digital experience, and social media, and has been published in many library-related journals.
