Hitachi breaks 1TB hard drive barrier with 7K1000 – Engadget

I said it would happen by the end of 2006. Cut me some slack, I was only off by five days. Here’s a 1TB hard drive for only $400.

    Michael,

    Well, we were both actually three months off: If you read the release, the Hitachi won’t go on sale until the end of March. (Note the “both”–I agreed with your prediction.)

    I wonder whether Seagate will push to get its 1TB drive on the market earlier?
